Even sweeter Naturalization Ceremony this Monday

U.S. District Judges have real work to do. But they also have a job for life and one other great perk – they get to swear in groups of new, grateful, almost always happily-tearful citizens.

Houston-based U.S.District Judge Gray Miller said that job will be even sweeter this coming Monday Feb. 25 for him when his three granddaughters will be leading the new citizens in the Pledge of Allegiance at the ceremony. They are 4-year-old Adair, 7-year-old Emme and 9-year-old Elizabeth.

Judge Miller is the son of Ray Miller, a beloved and respected journalist who created and hosted The Eyes of Texas program on KPRC, and his war bride from Australia. Judge Miller said the ceremony, always meaningful, is extra special for him too because his mother the was a naturalized US citizen.
