Ros-Lehtinen Bringing Back DREAM Act

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – South Florida Republican Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is joining with her Democratic colleagues to reintroduce the DREAM Act.

The Dream Act would give some young illegal immigrants a chance to live in the United States legally.

In order to qualify for the award, young immigrants must have a high school diploma or the equivalent and spend two years in college or the military, and they must have been under 16 when they arrived in the United States.

The House version will be introduced by Democratic Rep. Howard Berman, with Ros-Lehtinen as a co-sponsor. The Senate version will be introduced by Senator Dick Durbin.
